Maple Pecan Granola

Note.  I made this like 2months ago… I’m finally posting on the blog.

It is since has been devoured; it’s  long gone.  Some day I’ll have the time to make more 🙂

ps. this makes your house smell FANTASTIC!


2.5 cups rolled oats
1 cup finely chopped pecans
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp light brown sugar
3 Tbsp pure maple syrup
2 T canola oil
1 & 1/2 Tbsp agave nectar
2 tsp vanilla

1. In a medium bowl, stir together dry ingredients.

2. In a separate bowl, whisk together wet ingredients

3. Combine~ use your hands, it’s more fun!

3. Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees. Spray a light colored cookie sheet with cooking spray (if you don’t have a light/aluminum colored sheet, just adjust baking time down a few minutes). Spread granola evenly on the cookie sheet. Bake approx 25-30 minutes until the mixture is fragrant and *almost crunchy. Be sure to stir the mixture every 5-7 minutes. When you remove the granola from the oven, let it sit & cool on the cookie sheet till it reaches “crunchy stage.” Crunchy stage is when you shake the pan, you can hear the granola rattle.

*do not over bake or the granola will taste burnt. I did this my first time making granola, it’s just not as good that way! It’s better to take it out a bit too soon & let it finished baking outside of the oven.

My latest obsession is to combine homemade, plain yogurt, with a few tsp of blackberry jam,  & top with some yummy granola. AH-MAZING!

    i have been wanting to make granola for SO long. maybe i’ll get around to it sometime soon. where were you able to find agave nectar? i’m doubting it’s at target where we now grocery shop but i could be wrong!
